The 809 International New Image Art Festival (the 809 INIAF) is the first event and will be held from Friday, July 25 to Tuesday, August 05, 2008 at the 809 International Art District in the Three Gorges area, China.
The Art Festival includes two parts:
(1) Main Event & Exhibition - The 809 INIAF Judging Committee will invite more than 60 national and international visual artists to take part in the following art forms: Photograph, Video, Short film, Documentary (film/video/photo), New media, Performance art, Multimedia installation, and Interdisciplinary art.
(2) Special Exhibition - The 809 INIAF Judging Committee will invite more than 40 national, and international artists (Resident Artists in the 809) to take part in all forms of media.
Preparations for the Arts Festival:
The 809 INIAF was supported and organized by the 809 Art Organization, New Forms Festival (Canada) and the Video Painting Collective (Canada) to participate in the main event & exhibition at the 809 Art Museum and around the heart of the 809 Arts District.
The 809 International Art Organization will be provided free spaces for event & exhibition, and related free services include artists during the exhibition period for the event & exhibition at the 809 Art District.
The Artists Reception:
Artist reception will be held from Monday, July 21 to August 08 (Sunday), 2008. All selected artists who wish to attend the Opening Reception must register through our committee at least three days before Friday (Opening Reception), July 22, 2008.
Responsibilities and Obligations:
Support Part of The 809 INIAF -
(1) There is no application fee for all artists, includes national and international organizations.
(2) A free exhibition catalogue (Exquisite Full Color Design & Printing) for all selected artist.
(3) The 809 International Art Organization will be providing free accommodation and food services (food includes Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner from Monday, July 25 to Sunday, August 05, 2008). Other services include advisory services in all national and international art organizations staff. All selected artists are to participate in our art festival.
(4) The 809 International Art Organization will be providing several free art studios (more than 100 square meters = 1000 square feet) for selected national and international artists (Best Visual Artists of the 809 INIAF), and the right to use one time (within three months - Spring, Summer, Autumn).
The Self-Cost of The Selected Artist:
(1) All selected artists (both national and International) and all international art organizations staff are responsible for the cost of all travel fees.
(2) Production costs of artworks.
(3) All the transportation costs for the artworks.
(4) Artwork from special size or other special request, and including special tools.
(5) All international selected artists and international arts organizations staff must hold International Travel Health Insurance- Medical Insurance.
